Happy Holidays from the Unemployment Line

Nothing like Christmas in the City

‘Twas the Eve before Christmas Eve

And all through the land,

Office doors were closing

Gift boxes at hand.

Jobs have been posted

And resumes have been sent,

You’ve done your fair share

You’ve been a good gent.

It will be a quiet few days

On the Unemployment Line,

Spend them with family

And  friends, yours or mine.

Because until next week

Applications will freeze,

So friends, rejoice!

Let’s all be at ease.

This Christmas season

May seem different than others,

But I’d do it all over

If I had my druthers.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas

And a healthy Twenty – Ten,

Apologies for the corny poem

I’ll never do it again.

Happy Holidays, everyone!
